PERSONAL CARE
Personal care and daily living help at home.
Help with bathing, dressing or toileting is personal. Peacemaker provides respectful, non-medical support shaped around the routines and preferences of older adults and adults with disabilities in Louisville and surrounding areas.
THE SHORT ANSWER
What families should know first
Personal care may help when bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating or moving safely through a daily routine has become difficult without assistance.
What personal care may include
- Bathing, dressing and grooming assistance
- Toileting and personal hygiene support
- Help with eating and meal routines
- Mobility support within the approved non-medical care plan
- Companionship and practical help around the home
When families often begin looking
A change in strength, balance, memory or confidence can make familiar routines harder. Families also call when a spouse or adult child can no longer provide every hands-on task alone.
- Morning or evening routines are taking much longer
- A person is skipping bathing, dressing or meals
- A family caregiver needs reliable hands-on help
- A recent change has made staying home more difficult
How the plan is built
We start with the exact tasks, timing, preferences and home situation. The care plan stays within Peacemaker's non-medical scope and gives the caregiver a clear routine to follow.
Peacemaker typically plans about three weeks ahead. A phone consultation and in-home assessment come before caregiver matching and a confirmed schedule. Start timing depends on assessed needs and caregiver availability. Peacemaker is not an on-call, same-day or emergency service.
Important: Peacemaker provides non-medical home care. We do not provide skilled nursing or therapy, emergency care or hospital-level services.
