OUR PROCESS
From the first call to a clear care plan.
Families often reach out while several things are changing at once. Our process is designed to make the next decision easier to understand.
THE SHORT ANSWER
What families should know first
Care begins with a phone consultation, an in-home assessment and questionnaire, a practical non-medical care plan, caregiver matching and a confirmed schedule. A form or booking request does not confirm care or a start date.
1. Tell us what is happening
Call, use the booking calendar or send the short contact form to begin a conversation. Share the care location, requested schedule, daily routines and kind of help you are considering. Do not send diagnoses or medical records through the website.
2. Complete an in-home assessment
After the phone consultation, an in-home assessment and questionnaire help us understand routines, requested support and the home-care plan. We clarify which tasks fit non-medical care, who is involved in decisions and what timing matters most before caregiver matching. This is not a medical assessment.
3. Build the care plan
The plan identifies approved tasks, routines, schedule, communication expectations and service boundaries. Pricing varies with appointment length, days of the week and total hours, so it is discussed after the request is understood.
Before a consultation, the private weekly estimator can help the family organize the days and uncovered time blocks it wants to discuss. It does not recommend a care level.
Use the care-hours estimator4. Match and orient the caregiver
Experience, personality, communication preferences, routine and schedule inform the match. Caregivers are oriented to the approved plan before service begins.
5. Confirm the start and stay involved
Peacemaker typically plans about three weeks ahead. A phone consultation and in-home assessment come before caregiver matching and a confirmed schedule. Start timing depends on assessed needs and caregiver availability. Peacemaker is not an on-call, same-day or emergency service.
Upcoming-week requests are finalized by Wednesday, and schedules with matched caregivers are locked on Thursday. Once assessment and staffing are confirmed, care generally begins Sunday or Monday of the following week. The care team confirms the actual start; these planning steps do not guarantee availability. Once care begins, share meaningful changes so the schedule and non-medical plan can be reviewed.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about how care begins
What happens before a care schedule is confirmed?
A phone consultation and in-home assessment are needed before caregiver matching and confirmation of fit, timing, schedule and pricing. The website form and booking request do not create a care agreement.
What should the family decide in advance?
Know who will be the main contact, the care address, the routines that need help and the schedule you are considering. It is okay if some details are still uncertain.
What happens after the website form?
The information is sent securely to Peacemaker's contact system. A care coordinator reviews it and follows up during office hours to clarify the next step.
